I grew up in Western Pennsylvania and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. In my early 20’s I moved to Northern California and became interested in woodworking after reading a book by James Krenov, with whom I later studied at the College of the Redwoods.
In 1990 I relocated to Northern New Mexico, where I established my own shop making commissioned furniture for private clients and galleries. I also spent 26 years teaching at Santa Fe Community College and overseeing the Fine Woodworking department there.
After moving to La Veta Colorado in September 2018, I focused on small scale projects like boxes and sculpture. I opened The Parkside Gallery of Wood Art in summer 2019, featuring the work of the faculty and students from SFCC, as well as the work of local artisans and myself.
